MD Start operates worldwide and you do not need to be based in Europe to submit your idea. MD Start will handle ideas from any geographical location in the same way.
Our aim is to have an efficient and mutually beneficial screening process for new inventions. In order to ensure we can review submissions in a timely way, we ask that you start out by sharing just some basic, high level information about your Idea. If we need to know more about your idea to evaluate it further, we will contact you, and if appropriate, ask you to enter into a confidential non-disclosure contract where you can share more of the details of your project.
This will depend on your status with respect to your company or institution, as your ideas may in fact belong to that company or institution. You should review your contract with that company or institution or any applicable regulation (in the case of an institution) to determine the status of your inventions. You should only submit information to us when you are confident that you have the ownership of your ideas or if you obtained clearance from your company or institution.
In this context you need to be careful to provide information that does not encompass a description of your idea or invention. For instance, you should limit your description to the field and/or the context, so as to allow proper screening by MD Start without actually describing the idea and invention. Bear in mind that the disclosure of your invention to MD Start in a non-confidential way could prevent it from being patented. Submission of your information to MD Start does not imply the transfer of any rights to MD Start that are retained by you for possible future patenting.
If you have signed a confidentiality agreement with MD Start, we will keep your idea confidential as per the legal agreement terms and conditions.
Normally, you should receive a first evaluation within one month.
